Client:
JournalDoc
Challenge:
To provide better care and stay informed, doctors rely on peer-reviewed medical journals. But PubMed.gov, a publicly-available resources, contains more than 20 million article abstracts that can only be accessed by keyword searches. As a result, few doctors use the system because it is difficult to use and returns too many ?false positive? results. The physicians at JournalDoc patented a new search methodology designed to address this, but needed help building the Web application.
Solution:
We created a hosted application that extracts article abstracts from PubMed.gov into a publishing system, where a network of JournalDoc physicians review and code each article for relevant medical topics and specialties. This enables doctors to search for articles based on standardized criteria, enabling faster and more relevant results. This commerce site integrates DoubleClick advertising, a widget-based news dashboard, video feeds, and a suite of tools for communication and collaboration.
